Kakeru(カケル) is a manga created by Kenjiro Takeshita and serialized in Weekly Young Sunday. Kakeru, the title character, possesses supernatural powers as a result of a near death experience and consequently must use them to protect those close to him. Kakeru was a contact dog between Matheus and Kurohabaki Masamune's pack before Matheus tried to kill him and Hayato (GDWO). Tesshin rescued the two and they joined Orion's forces as spies. Kakeru (駆ける) was one of several children that Michiru selected as a candidate to become one of the Commanders's Puppet Soldiers, until it was discovered that she was actually a girl. Michiru ordered No. 1 to kill her, which he did three times, but because she was a Spirit Reservoir Owner, Kakeru kept reviving. Michiru began to train Kakeru as a spellcaster, and later took her on as an assistant. Together, they are the core of the Shinyuuchi Hunters. Kakeru is a character in the video game, Beyblade: Metal Fusion - Battle Fortress. He was not seen in the anime and his Beyblade is Crystal Leol D125B. Kakeru is the youngest of Hikaru's brothers. After the war the Land of Iron settled into a lull of peace that allowed the samurai to prosper instead of constantly fight the ninja. Among these samurai was Kakeru, a budding Samurai who desperately wanted to protect his country. Kakeru became a very promising warrior as he climbed the ranks of the army to the place of captain. During a particularly close battle with an army from the North most region Kakeru was captured and tortured for a year, refusing to give up information. When a team finally rescued him his brain was out of whack from the constant pain and struggle to keep his mental stability. He kept mumbling something about how a terrible fate would befall the samurai and how he had seen horrible things. Due to his constant rantings and disturbing the peace he was banished from the Land of Iron and forced to walk the world alone. He roamed the world until he met Choryuu who was out on a mission. The two became friends due to their similar interest in weapons and Choryuu invited him to join Dead Man's Hand. With no other place in the world Kakeru accepted the offer.
