Mingella and Blobbelda intended to restore their skeletal sister Gruntilda to full life after she was defeated by Banjo and Kazooie and trapped under a boulder for two years. Once rescued, Grunty used B.O.B. to suck the life force from King Jingaling and his palace; however, since Gruntilda's body was somewhat less than slim, Jingaling's life force alone wasn't quite enough. She decided to blast the entire Isle o' Hags, which was possible, but only after a charge-up that took so long that Banjo and Kazooie reached Cauldron Keep before it could fire. Once the pair beat back Grunty and her sisters, Kazooie restored the life force to Jingaling's palace and also Bottles, who was killed much earlier. In 1959, according to General Warren R. Monger, B.O.B. was planted from a genetically-altered tomato seed at a snack food plant, then, in his resulting birth, was injected with a chemically altered ranch-flavored dessert topping. Before the government could tranquilize him, they found out the hard way that he was indestructible. So, they fired a non-explosive missile inside him, containing a chemical that's supposed to knock him out for at least five hours. B.O.B. awoke in the facility, where he would spend the next fifty years with a few more monsters, which were added later, one by one respectively in 1961, 1967, 1969, and 2009. B.O.B. (Benzoate Ostylezene Bicarbonate) is a character of Monsters vs. Aliens. B.O.B. is a blue one-eyed indestructible gelatinous mass created when a genetically-altered tomato was injected with a chemically-altered ranch dessert topping in a laboratory. His greatest strength lies in his ability to devour and digest any substance as well as being indestructible. His one weakness is that his mutation didn't give him a brain, making him incredibly dimwitted, such as sometimes mistaking the other monsters' goals in life for his own, although his plan to infiltrate Gallaxhar's clones proves surprisingly successful. His main goal in life is to digest things.
B.O.B., short for Benzoate Ostylezene Bicarbonate, is a blue one-eyed indestructible gelatinous mass that was spontaneously created in a laboratory when scientists injected a chemically-altered ranch dressing into a genetically-altered tomato. He has the ability to absorb anything, can form into any shape, doesn't have a brain and digests objects within seconds (depending on size). He can also extend his body and detach his eyeball. He was captured in 1958 and was sent to Area Fifty-Something.
