Ronald Weasley's sweetheart necklace
rdfs:comment
In 1996, Lavender Brown sent her boyfriend, Ron Weasley a necklace for a Christmas gift. It was a thick gold chain, with large gold letters spelling "my sweetheart." Ron was horrified when he received it, astonished and appalled that Lavender could think he would ever like such an item. He showed it to Harry Potter, who was staying with Ron at the Burrow during the Christmas holidays that year; Harry burst out laughing and jokingly threatened to tell Ron's older brothers Fred and George about it. Harry then remarked of Ron's shock, "Have you ever let it slip that you would go out in public with the words 'My Sweetheart' around your neck?" Ron immediately shoved the necklace under his pillow. When Ron later laughed at the gift Harry received from Kreacher, a parcel full of maggots, Harry declared that he preferred it to the necklace Ron had received, which quieted Ron at once. It is implied that Ron and Lavender's relationship was so shallow that she would not know what to get him since they spent most of their time snogging.
