Robert Blythe appeared in Coronation Street in May 1995 as pub landlord Wally Llewelyn. He was born in Port Talbot in Wales and his first work was as a surveyor. Turning to acting, he trained at The Arts Educational Trust in London. He began his television career in 1976 in the BBC's adaptation of How Green Was My Valley and has since appeared in many productions including The Brothers, Angels, Taff Acre, Troubles and Strife, Bulman, Boon, Minder, EastEnders, Lifeboat, The Governor, Waking the Dead, The Bill and High Hopes. His film work includes The Englishman Who Went Up a Hill But Came Down a Mountain.
