thumb Gaul ist der Anführer der Steinhunde in Tear. Er gehört zur Imran-Septime der Shaarad Aiel. Er ist aus der Heiße Quellen-Festung. Kategorie:Person Kategorie:Männlich Kategorie:Heiße Quellen Festung Kategorie:Shae'en M'taal Kategorie:Imran-Septime Kategorie:Shaarad (Person) Kategorie:POV Kategorie:Gaul The Gauls favor wooden buildings with tar and hide roofs. They will use stones carved with runes as decoration. thumb|Gaul (2376) Gaul ist ein Vaadwaur, der 900 Jahre in Stasis verbringt. In the Earth year 1484, his battalion and their families, approximately six hundred Vaadwaur, went into stasis on their homeworld after an attack by their enemies, including the Turei. He was awakened by an away team from USS Voyager. He was in command of the rest of the Vaadwaur, who were also awoken from stasis. He told Captain Kathryn Janeway that if she helped him and his people escape from their planet, he would give them directions to subspace corridors that could cut years off Voyager's journey. The history of Gallia was of no small import to Monique Dutourd, as it had become her country of France. She wrote several theses about obscure points in Gallia's history, including its past relations with Germania which had become Allemagne. >"Long have we waited, long have we suffered! But soon, our master will return, and his coming shall bring forth a new age of power for the Apes, and we shall have our revenge!" —Gaul Gaul is the Ape King, ruler of the Apes and a loyal servant of Malefor in the The Legend of Spyro series. He is the main antagonist of The Legend of Spyro: The Eternal Night. Gaul the Ape King is a major antagonist in The Legend of Spyro trilogy and the final boss of the second game The Eternal Night. He is Malefor's second-in-command and the king of his armies of Ape Monsters. He is depicted as far more competent and dangerous that his bumbling subjects. At the beginning of Knife of Dreams, Gaul has ventured near the Shaido encampment to capture a gai'shain, who turns out to be Galina. Since it is the main characters' home place, it appears in all Asterix albums, films, games and other media. He is tall and handsome, with red hair and long lashed green eyes. An area under rule of the Roman Empire (modern day France, Belgium, Luxembourg, and western Germany). Occupied by Celtic tribes commonly referred to as Gauls. Gaul was a region in Europe that existed around the time of the Roman Empire. Flavius Giscard campaigned in Gaul while the First Doctor, Ian Chesterton, Barbara Wright and Vicki stayed at his villa. (TV: "The Slave Traders") In a alternate timeline where all of history occurred at once after River Song refused to kill the Eleventh Doctor, Holy Roman Emperor Winston Churchill went to Gaul to speak with Cleopatra. (TV: The Wedding of River Song) Gaul was a nation to the south of Britannia during Roman times. It would later become known as France during the time of King Richard the Lionheart and Prince John. Gaul is a territory corresponding approximately to modern France, Luxembourg. Belgium, and most of Switzerland. The word may have been first used in Wace's Roman de Brut to translate the Roman named Gallia, Gallia being a Roman province bounded by the Rhine on the east, by the sea on the north and west, and by the Pyranees to the south. Politically in Arthur romances, it is sometimes distinguished as the area in geographical Gaul that has remained subject to Rome. The Prose Lancelot places Lancelot’s homeland of Benwick in the Saumarois region of Anjou-Tourraine, and says it is in a borderland between Gaul and Little Britain, but ruled from Little Britain. Many writers of these Arthurian romances, particularly of later romances, were well aware that to use France in Arthurian times would be anachronistic and mostly avoid it. Other writer, like Sir Thomas Malory, were more careless in their usage. thumb Gaul ist der Anführer der Steinhunde in Tear. Er gehört zur Imran-Septime der Shaarad Aiel. He is the main antagonist of The Legend of Spyro: The Eternal Night. thumb|Gaul (2376) Gaul ist ein Vaadwaur, der 900 Jahre in Stasis verbringt. Kategorie:Person en:Gaul Clyde's pet Gran, a hybrid of ape and canine. Like all Grans, Gaul is highly intelligent and is very protective of both Clyde and Quentin. His animal senses sometimes help Quentin in dangerous situations. An area under rule of the Roman Empire (modern day France, Belgium, Luxembourg, and western Germany). Occupied by Celtic tribes commonly referred to as Gauls. Gaul was divided into several provinces: * Gallia Cisalpina ("Gaul this side of the Alps") * Covered most of present-day northern Italy. * Gallia Narbonensis (formerly Gallia Transalpina - "Gaul across the Alps") * Conquered and annexed in 121 BC in an attempt to solidify communications between Rome and the Iberian peninsula. * The present-day region of Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur, most of Languedoc-Roussillon, and the southeastern half of Rhône-Alpes. * Gallia Comata ("long haired Gaul") * The remainder of present-day France, Belgium, and westernmost Germany * Conquered in the Gallic Wars * Divided into three provinces: * Gallia Aquitania * Gallia Belgica * Gallia Lugdunensis Gaul the Ape King is a major antagonist in The Legend of Spyro trilogy and the final boss of the second game The Eternal Night. He is Malefor's second-in-command and the king of his armies of Ape Monsters. He is depicted as far more competent and dangerous that his bumbling subjects. Since it is the main characters' home place, it appears in all Asterix albums, films, games and other media. At the beginning of Knife of Dreams, Gaul has ventured near the Shaido encampment to capture a gai'shain, who turns out to be Galina. The Gauls favor wooden buildings with tar and hide roofs. They will use stones carved with runes as decoration. Gaul is a land in the world of Glorianna that lies west of Germany, north of Hesperia, and to the south of the Isle of Gramarye and Albion. It includes lands such as Belgium (and France). 1563, from [[w:|]][[Category: derivations|Gaul]] Gaule "Gaul" from [[w:|]][[Category: derivations|Gaul]] Gaule "Gaul" from [[w:|]][[Category: derivations|Gaul]] Gaule, Waulle (used to translate Latin Gallia "Gaul"), of [[w:|]][[Category: derivations|Gaul]] origin, from *Walholant "Gaul, Land of the Romans/foreigners" from [[w:|]][[Category: derivations|Gaul]] *Walha "foreigners, Romans, Celts" from Proto-Germanic *Walχaz, Walχoz (“‘an outlander, foreigner, Celt’”), probably of [[w:|]][[Category: derivations|Gaul]] origin, from the same source as Latin Volcae (name of a Celtic tribe in S. Akin to [[w:|]] Walh, Walah "a Celt, Roman, Gaul", Old English Wealh, Walh "a non-Germanic foreigner, Celt/Briton/Welshman", [[w:|]] Valir "Gauls, Frenchmen". More at Wales, Cornwall, Walloon. Despite their similar appearance, Latin Gallia is probably not the origin of French Gaul; the similarity being purely coincidental. According to regular sound changes in the development of Old French, Latin g before a becomes j (compare gamba > jambe), and the i of terminal -ia transpositions to the preceding syllable (compare gloria > gloire). Thus, the regular outcome of Latin Gallia is Jaille, a component still seen in several French placenames (eg. La Jaille-Yvon, Saint-Mars-la-Jaille, etc). The history of Gallia was of no small import to Monique Dutourd, as it had become her country of France. She wrote several theses about obscure points in Gallia's history, including its past relations with Germania which had become Allemagne. Gaul was a male Vaadwaur soldier. In reality, his plan was to seize Voyager and use it to attack his enemies and restore the Vaadwaur empire. Janeway and the Voyager crew were able to foil the plot when one of the Vaadwaur, Gedrin, along with Tuvok returned to the surface of the planet to help the Turei find the Vaadwaur ships using a Vaadwaur communication satellite. The Turei attacked the Vaadwaur fleet, destroying many ships, allowing Voyager to escape. (VOY: "Dragon's Teeth") Gaul (Modern-day France) is a country that is located in Western Europe.
