Spike (The Land Before Time)
rdfs:comment
This article is about The Land Before Time character. For other uses, see Spike. Spike, the spike-tail (Stegosaurus), is a friend of Littlefoot in The Land Before Time film series. He is the 'mute' of the group, in terms that he hardly ever spoke. In The Land Before Time II: The Great Valley Adventure, his design was modified; he no longer had any small spikes on his tail. This is presumably to make him easier for the animators to draw, but compared to Cera's modification, Spike's isn't as drastic.

n11:abstract
This article is about The Land Before Time character. For other uses, see Spike. Spike, the spike-tail (Stegosaurus), is a friend of Littlefoot in The Land Before Time film series. He is the 'mute' of the group, in terms that he hardly ever spoke. When Spike was an egg, he was separated from his real parents. He was an orphan, too, until he was brotherly adopted by his adopted older sister, Ducky, which is a young swimmer (Saurolophus). Spike has an adopted family, like his adopted parents, including Ducky's father, who was only seen in The Land Before Time, The Land Before Time II: The Great Valley Adventure, and The Land Before Time V: The Mysterious Island, adopted brothers and sisters, including his adopted older sister, Ducky, and the other ones that just hatched at the end and during the end credits of The Land Before Time II: The Great Valley Adventure. He also has a big appetite, so he constantly ate plants that were in his sight; even the grass that surrounded the nest he hatched in! In The Land Before Time V: The Mysterious Island, when he and his friends first arrived at the Big Water, when he got some of the water in his mouth, he actually swallowed it, despite (for us) the fact that seawater tastes very salty. In The Land Before Time II: The Great Valley Adventure, his design was modified; he no longer had any small spikes on his tail. This is presumably to make him easier for the animators to draw, but compared to Cera's modification, Spike's isn't as drastic.
