Lamia Lamia Lamia Lamia Lamia Lamia Lamia
rdfs:comment
According to Greek mythology, Lamia was a Libyan queen who fell in love with Zeus, and bore him children. Hera became enraged, and murdered all of Lamia's children (one version of the tale claims that Hera forced Lamia to kill and eat her own children). Lamia went insane with grief, and began kidnapping and eating children, eventually turning into a hideous monster as a result. Legend states how Zeus granted Lamia the ability to remove her own eyes at will, as, otherwise, whenever Lamia closed her eyes, she would see her own dead children. Lamias are virtually the same as ordinary witches. The only difference is their appearance and maybe their strength. There are two categories of lamia witches: The domestic and the feral. Lamia witches shun sunlight and at night, they drink the blood of men. Domestic Lamias - are lamia witches who have spent some time with humans, thus taking the appearance of a normal if not beautiful woman. Feral Lamias - are lamia witches who are savage and don't have the appearance of a woman. Lamias can also be classified under two different types: The ground and sky lamias. Lamia was an Andorian Federation citizen, a security officer serving in Starfleet in the 23rd century. (TOS novel: Bloodthirst) The Lamia are a race of humanoid serpents that inhabit in the land of Mahkadune. __NOEDITSECTION__ Main card page: "[[]]" For the "D/D" card, see "D/D Lamia". The Lamiae (singular Lamia) were a bloodline of the Cappadocian clan, founded by Lamia (a rumored descendant and high priestess of Lilith). Members of this bloodline served the Cappadocians as dervishes and warriors until the purge orchestrated by the Giovanni, in 1444. According to the Giovanni, when Lamia herself was diablerized, she passed on the curse to the Giovanni, which manifested as the Giovanni's extraordinarily painful Kiss. Lamia is a fictional character from the Wild Cards series of books. Lamia (ラミア, Ramia lit. "Fiend") is a Human and Fullbringer who has modified herself into an "undead" state after an accident in the past using her Fullbring, recieving scars on her body, but also stopped her from aging. She is also a highly intelligent Human, considering herself a scientist, though rarely does she engage in any scientific acts or experiments. Lamia (レイミア Reimia), better known by her nickname Lamia the Heartless, is an enemy character from Fire Emblem: Genealogy of the Holy War. She is the leader of an all-female band of assassins, and is hired by Daccar to guard the castle and pick off any stragglers who dare come near. After Donovan is killed, Lamia will be ordered to move out and directly attack Sigurd's army. Despite Lamia's confidence in her abilities, she will eventually fall in battle, alongside her assassin band. __TOC__ Lamia is a monster from Greek mythology. A rare and mysterious specy, with upper half body of a human and lower half of a giant snake. Scholars know very few of their social organization, which seems to be a matriarchy. Only female, generally of great magical power, interact with other species; this fact has made some people think that male lamia doesn't exist at all. Whether this is true or not is still under debate (unless for the Lamia, obviously). Considered as frightening beings by many; however have proved able to socialize and cooperate fairly among the Kuriotates. Lamia is the main antagonist of Stardust. She is a member of the Lillim Coven, as well as the oldest and most powerful of the three evil sister witches. Her one goal is to capture Yvaine, cut her heart out and eat it to regain her youth and beauty. However, she was ultimately destroyed by Yvaine's starlight. After an android of Romana I failed to kill the Fourth Doctor at the Pavilion of the Summer Winds, she ran out of the Pavilion, but was accidentally killed by one of Grendel's men. (TV: The Androids of Tara) File:CharStub.png These monster girls have the upper torso of a human woman and the lower half of a snake. Known for living with their own kind in small villages or living stealthily in human settlements, they are extremely intelligent and individualistic. Those that live in villages with their fellow lamia are known as "wild lamia", they lurk alongside highways, mountain passes and similar areas waiting for a man to pass by. They conceal their lower body, and call out to passing men. thumb|250px Les lamias sont un type de monstre présents dans Rosario + Vampire. . Lamias are the weakest of a family of creatures known as lamyros, of which the kuchrimas, lamia matriarchs, and harridans are also members. They appear as attractive, slender women from the waist up, with the lower body of lions. Lamia Queen or Queen Lamia is a recurring Lamia-type . She is propably the 'original' lamia of ancient greek mythology, whereas the lamiæ as a whole represent the modern, folkloric and fantasy depiction of a whole race of half-serpentine women. A half-serpent, half-human female creature belonging to the race of Lamiæ. These women have the upper body portion of a beautiful human female (although with some serpentine features, such as scales, cobra hoods, poison fangs and serpentine tongues and eyes) and the lower body of a snake. Lamia is a Guardian ÄRM in the form of a half woman half snake, similar to that of the mythological Naga. It has similarities to a siren or mermaid in that she Candice's foes with its song. She can also fire energy blasts at them. Lamia is monster #104 from Super Scary Series 4. The figure portrays a woman with a monstrous, fanged face, holding eyes in her hands. The figure was available in three colour schemes: neon red with green hair and a yellow face (pictured), neon yellow with green hair and a red face, and a rarer monocolour neon yellow variant that was released as a cereal premium. Lamia has a points value of ninety, and was named Bloodsucker in the later UK relrelease of Series 4. Połączenie ludzkiego sprytu z szybkością i zwinnością dzikiego zwierzęcia czyni z lamii potężne przeciwniczki. Często dzierżą sztylety, których używają do oprawiania i sztukowania swych ofiar, kiedy przygotowują je do pożarcia. Ich ciała wydzielają przyjemny, kwietny zapach, który służy im do zwodzenia i usypiania czujności ofiar. Ponadto posiadają czaropodobne zdolności tworzenia uroków i iluzji, dzięki którym zapewniają sobie bierność schwytanych istot, kiedy spokojnie je konsumują. Dotyk lamii stopniowo wysysa z dotknięte Lamias were dangerous monstrosities that lived to bring strife and suffering into the world. They were cruel and seductive beings who lured their victims closer to doom with illusions of beauty. Some accounts say she has a serpent's tail below the waist. This popular description of her is largely due Lamia, a poem by John Keats published in 1819. Antoninus Liberalis uses Lamia as an alternate name for the serpentine drakaina Sybaris; however, Diodorus Siculus describes her as having nothing more than a distorted face. Later traditions referred to many lamiae; these were folkloric monsters similar to vampires and succubi that seduced young men and then fed on their blood. Horace, in Ars Poetica (l.340) imagines the impossibility of retrieving the living children she has eaten: Lamia — gad drapieżny zamieszkujący wyspy Jaszczura. Lamia, also known as Marian Lamia, was once a Greek demigod, a daughter of Hecate, and Queen of Libya but was turned into a monster by the goddess Hera in revenge. The lamia are a race of centaur-like creatures with lion-like bodies. It is unclear if they are just concept art or may show up in a future expansion or patch. In some stories, she originated as a Libyan queen or the daugther of Poseidon before being transformed by her rage. her eyes are cursed that they may never closed and be relieved of the sight of her dead children, though Zeus gave her the power to pluck her eyes out. she is often associated with the she-demon Lilith, a sucubus. Her name has been confirmed as Iris by Kory. She works in Brodie's Bakery. Despite Jon Lyon's apparent dislike of monsters he has no problem with her offering him biscuits. Although she appeared in the background of several comics and was mentioned in several others, here is the first time she has been seen close up. She is a friend of Rhonda Phelton. Although her top half is mostly human she has scaly lower arms/hands, sharp teeth, and a snake like tongue.

(TV: The Androids of Tara) File:CharStub.png The Lamiae (singular Lamia) were a bloodline of the Cappadocian clan, founded by Lamia (a rumored descendant and high priestess of Lilith). In ancient Greek mythology, there was only one Lamia, according to the Wikipedia article on the source. But in Rosario + Vampire, there are many of the name of "lamia". A Lamia was a creature of magic, created by the High Priestesses by mingling the blood of a girl and that of a serpent together. Lamiæ are a race of exclusively female human-serpentine hybrids with the upper body of a beautiful human female (although displaying some serpentine features, such as scales, cobra hood, venomous fangs, forked tongue and serpentine eyes) and the lower body portion of a snake. They slither on their serpentine tails, but keep the humanoid torso erect. This species was named after the mythological Lamia, which is likely the Lamia Queen of Random Kingdom. Lamia was an Andorian Federation citizen, a security officer serving in Starfleet in the 23rd century. These monster girls have the upper torso of a human woman and the lower half of a snake. At this time these girls will use their sweet voice, laden with magic, to entice these men, their voice making the man feverish with desire as it resounds within their minds. Men affected by this magic will stagger over to the lamia, at which point these girls will wrap their body in tight coils around the man, stealing away their ability to flee before coupling with them. At this time, even when the man is wrapped in her coils, she will continue to use her enchanted voice to charm him, also, while wrapped this tightly around she will lean in and whisper and murmur, doing her best to tempt the man. Men charmed in this manner will find her serpent half alluring and at this point she will ask him to couple with her. After this these girls will take you away, forcibly kidnapping you and taking you back to their village as her sweetheart, having become your wife. They can be very forceful and tenacious, always keeping a part of their body entwined about their man. Furthermore, they can be extremely jealous, if their husband ever has an affair they will wrap their bodies all around him, squeezing him painfully until he confesses his crimes. These girls will also go through a molting process during regular intervals. In the same manner as snakes shedding their skin, they will tear away the old skin of their lower half and cast it aside. Care must be taken by her husband during this time, for immediately after molting these girls enter a period of exceptional arousal, lustfully attacking their sweethearts with un asked for sex and touching of her man's private areas. These molting and Lust mating attacks are more comon during the winter season. They are common in this period because the Lamia sheds the skin to keep even more warm and for her body to continue growing over the years. In fact a Lamia's body never stops growing if she stays mated with a human for a thousand or so years in her life and his after life with her, she will have grown to be the size of a entire house with enough space on the inside of her to create a small version of herself in her upper chest bedroom area that the husband will live in and be feed by her and have his wastes get taken away by her umbilical like tenticals. If approached by her husband during one of these molting periods, they will immediately wrap their newly shed lower half around him and won't take no for an answer, their freshly shed lower half sending them into paroxysms of pleasure as they twine around him/you. The Lamia are a race of humanoid serpents that inhabit in the land of Mahkadune. __TOC__ Lamia is the main antagonist of Stardust. He was giving suppressing fire on a destroyed tunnel when he was hit by infantry leaving the tunnel. He used an M1 Garand. Lamias were dangerous monstrosities that lived to bring strife and suffering into the world. They were cruel and seductive beings who lured their victims closer to doom with illusions of beauty. Lamia — gad drapieżny zamieszkujący wyspy Jaszczura. A Lamia appears. Zeus then gave her the ability to remove her eyes. The purpose of this ability is unclear in Diodorus, but other versions state Lamia's ability to remove her eyes came with the gift of prophecy. Zeus did this to appease Lamia in her grief over the loss of her children. In later stories, Lamia was cursed with the inability to close her eyes so that she would always obsess over the image of her dead children. Some accounts (see Horace, below) say Hera forced Lamia to devour her own children. Myths variously describe Lamia's monstrous (occasionally serpentine) appearance as a result of either Hera's wrath, the pain of grief, the madness that drove her to murder, or - in some rare versions - a natural result of being Hecate's daughter. Horace, in Ars Poetica (l.340) imagines the impossibility of retrieving the living children she has eaten: Neu pranse Lamiae vivum puerum extrabat alvo. Alexander Pope translates the line: Shall Lamia in our sight her sons devour, and give them back alive the self-same hour? Stesichorus identifies Lamia as the mother of Scylla, by Phorcys. This might be a conflation of Lamia with the sea goddess Ceto, traditionally Phorcys's wife and mother of Scylla. Further passing references to Lamia were made by Strabo (i.II.8) and Aristotle (Ethics vii.5). Other sources cite Triton as having fathered Scylla by Lamia. Antoninus Liberalis identifies the dragon Sybaris with Lamia, another conflation. Lamia, also known as Marian Lamia, was once a Greek demigod, a daughter of Hecate, and Queen of Libya but was turned into a monster by the goddess Hera in revenge. The lamia are a race of centaur-like creatures with lion-like bodies. It is unclear if they are just concept art or may show up in a future expansion or patch. Lamias are snake-chick-enemies from numerous Final Fantasy games. There are 3 plausible theories towards their creation. * A Wizard Did It. * A snake raped someone. * Genetic manipulation. This article is a . You can help My English Wiki by expanding it. Lamias are the weakest of a family of creatures known as lamyros, of which the kuchrimas, lamia matriarchs, and harridans are also members. They appear as attractive, slender women from the waist up, with the lower body of lions. Being an entire race of divinely-cursed people, Lamias despise all faiths, and take special pleasure in inhabiting defaced, ruined, or abandoned sites of worship. Lamia matriarchs can sometimes have mystic proclivities, but these take the form of a relayed 'whisper heard in the winds' or similar ambiguous natural force that is credited by the matriarch with providing guidance to the tribe. Głowa, ramiona i tułów lamii przypominają ciało młodej dziewczyny. Połączenie ludzkiego sprytu z szybkością i zwinnością dzikiego zwierzęcia czyni z lamii potężne przeciwniczki. Często dzierżą sztylety, których używają do oprawiania i sztukowania swych ofiar, kiedy przygotowują je do pożarcia. Ich ciała wydzielają przyjemny, kwietny zapach, który służy im do zwodzenia i usypiania czujności ofiar. Ponadto posiadają czaropodobne zdolności tworzenia uroków i iluzji, dzięki którym zapewniają sobie bierność schwytanych istot, kiedy spokojnie je konsumują. Lamia is a monster from Greek mythology. Lamia (Greek: Λάμια) in Greek mythology, was a beautiful queen of Libya and daughter of Hecate who became a child-eating daemon. Ground Lamias - are lamias who scuttle about the ground on her four legs. Sky Lamias - are lamias who have wings and can fly short distances with these.they are also known as veanger One way to separate them from other women when they are in their domestic state is to watch out for a line of green scales that runs down their spine. The first of the Lamias was a beautiful and powerful enchantress who was in love with Zeus. Lamia bore Zeus children, however, when Zeus's wife, Hera, discovered this, she slew all but one of them. Lamia was driven inane with grief and began to kill children wherever she found them. Eventually the gods punished her by transforming her into a serpentine, scaly humanoid creature with a beautiful head and shoulders. She preyed on young men, luring them with her upper body beauty and then wrapped her lower body around him like a Boa Constrictor would and drain his blood. Later, Lamia bore a spider-like creature called Chaemog female triplets, the first lamia witches. After a quarrel with their mother on their thirteenth birthday, the triplets tore her to pieces and fed her to a boar. However, in book 6, Mam claims she is the first lamia, meaning that the information on Lamia's demise found in The Spook's Bestiary could be a misinterpretation or legend that has become a false fact.
