Unknown to anyone, however, the conspiracy was masterminded by a Jedi Master who's last name was Solo. The members of the Council differed from Jedi and Sith of previous generations as they harnessed the power of The Force in new and inventive manners which included shapeshifting while wearing sophisticated armor and infusing items with the power of the Force. Due to the future setting, the Jedi Outlaw concept was abandoned as it was deemed that it would not appeal to the average Star Wars fan but led to the basic concepts of The Force Unleashed."@en . . These were initially the heads (or equivalent organs for those with strange biology) of the mercenary companies. As time went on the council was joined by various civil heads and the heads of new mining concerns. In the end the weight of the councils various factions began to erode the power of the Slurphurdles, although this was never as blatant as in the reign of the current king. The council effectively controls most of the law enforcers and fighters in the city. As a result what it says goes. This seemingly tyrannical grip is eased slightly by the numerous charities, religious orders and artists that are also represented across the council. Completing the triad of power is the mining companies. Without their co-operation the coffers of the council would soon empty. However there is one rather interesting development that has recently made the complex and twisted politics of the Council both more accessible and interesting to the common man. During a particularly heated debate between the representative of the Dipsteep mine and the Hoomaists the smelven miner began beating the priest around the head with a heavy book. The near-comatose audience that had scampered in to avoid a heavy downpour went crazy. As the two councillors wrestled on the floor they began tossing clams and encouragement into the main council chamber. Even the thickest council member came to the same conclusion - fights were good for business. Now each of the factions is represented by a councillor picked for a combination of strength and intelligence, and the new style debating has become so popular that the Council Chambers have had to be expanded to deal with the crowds. Debates New debates take the form of an elaborate fighting contest. Two or more councillors, and sometimes teams of them if they all represent a similar point, get into a large square arena and fight. The thing is, the fights are judged by a panel of other councillors, who will mark them up or down depending on what arguments they use during the fights. And this is the central difference between a street brawl and the Debates - both participants must keep up a stream of relevant political commentary as they attack and defend. Most of the watching crowd therefore end up mixing encouraging calls like ‘hit him with the state of the roadways in the Drips!’ and ‘Yeah, then kick him in the nards!’ All the while money flows in as they gulp down cheep slime booze and gobble junk food. This income stream alone has caused most of the less fun-loving councillors to shut up and get on with the new style of debate. Debates used to take place once a month but now they take place almost daily, with every little piece of trivia being settled in this way. The result has caused a sudden explosion of minority representation, from People that Think Buildings Should be Painted Blue to People Who Think New Words to Rhyme Orange Need to be Invented. There are also touring groups of Councillors that Debate in town squares or at charity events for more money. The rules are getting more and complex as time goes by, but the main rules remain the same; All attacks must be accompanied by a political point. No grapple may be broken without a political point. Any defences may be used, but if not accompanied by a political point then your opponent gets 1 mark. If a councillor has 10 points then the gong is sounded for them No blows may fall on the face or below the belt unless the gong has been sounded."@en . . . . "250"^^ . . "Ninja Batman"@en . . .
