The USS Exeter (NCC-26531) was a Federation starship that served during the 24th century. Tom Paris was stationed on this ship prior to his dismissal from Starfleet. During the Dominion War it was assigned to the Ninth Fleet operating near Bajor. In 2374 it stopped over at Deep Space 9 along with the USS Akagi and USS Sutherland. Again in 2374 DS9 received casualty reports from several ships in the Ninth Fleet, including this one. The USS Exeter (NCC-26531) was a 24th century Federation starship operated by Starfleet. The Exeter conducted an initial system survey of Minos Korva on stardate 20483, in the 2340s. This survey, and its findings, were mentioned in the file Summary System Report 58383-98: Minos Korva. (TNG-R: "Chain of Command, Part II" ) Tom Paris was assigned to this ship before he was dismissed from Starfleet. (VOY: "Non Sequitur") During the Dominion War, the Exeter was assigned to the Ninth Fleet operating near Bajor. In 2374, the Exeter visited Deep Space 9 to be resupplied along with the USS Akagi and the USS Sutherland. At this time, the USS Potemkin was at the station, too, to conduct repairs. (DS9: "You Are Cordially Invited") In 2374, the starship reported numerous casualties to Starfleet Command. The reporting ship's name and registry and its casuality list were seen on the Personnel Status Update chart in the Deep Space 9 wardroom. (DS9: "In the Pale Moonlight", okudagram) U.S.S. (DS9: "In the Pale Moonlight", "The Siege of AR-558", "What You Leave Behind", okudagramme) Casualty list, The siege of AR558 2.jpg|2374 / ("In the Pale Moonlight") The USS Exeter (NCC-26531) was an Ambassador-class starship in service during the late-24th century. Captain Sesballa, a Rigellian, was commanding officer of Exeter in 2333. The ship was the flagship of a task force of 32 Federation starships — including USS Stargazer — against the D'Prayl that year. (Stargazer novel: Enigma) Before his dismissal from Starfleet, Tom Paris served aboard the Exeter. (VOY: "Non Sequitur") The Exeter served with the Ninth Fleet, operating near Bajor, during the Dominion War, and during that time, visited Deep Space 9. In 2374, DS9 crew members resupplied the Exeter and, later in that same year, were supplied reports on casualties sustained to the Ninth Fleet during battles on the Dominion front. (DS9: "You Are Cordially Invited...", "In the Pale Moonlight") Unlike the USS Excalibur, the Exeter was designed with escape pods that had an emergency manual override on the inside of the pod, rather than the interior of the starship. (NF novel: Requiem) The Exeter was part of a fleet of thirty two starships that included Stargazer, Excalibur, Valdemar, Etrechaya that responded to the unprovoked attacks on the Antares, Cochise, Yorenda and Gettysburg. (STA novel: Enigma) In 2371, the Exeter, along with the USS Potemkin, USS Hood, and IKS N'Gat, were dispatched to Deep Space 9 to assist in fighting the Cardassians following the unearthing of a Cardassian tomb on the station. (DS9 novel: Station Rage) During the Dominion War, the Exeter was assigned to the Ninth Fleet and operated in the Bajor sector. In 2374, the Exeter docked at Deep Space 9 to be resupplied. (DS9 episode: "You Are Cordially Invited", Decipher RPG module: Starships) In early 2376, the Exeter became trapped in an unusual "dead zone" phenomena which disabled all of the ship's systems, in similar circumstances to other vessels all over the Milky Way Galaxy. Thankfully, the Exeter was released when the crew of the USS Enterprise-E were able to stop the "dead zones". (TNG novels: Dead Zone, Forever Dark) Prior to 2376, the Exeter was under the command of Captain Hodgkiss. In 2376, Captain Elizabeth Shelby took command of the vessel. (NF novel: Requiem) In Febuary 2381, the Exeter was one of the surviving ships of the fleet defending Vulcan along with the USS Atlas, USS Prometheus, and USS Kearsarge during the Borg Invasion of 2381. (ST - Destiny novel: Lost Souls) It would later be docked at Starbase 22 along with several other ships. (ST novel: A Singular Destiny)
