thumb|Der Fek'lhr. (TNG: ) The Fek'lhr (known in the Klingonese language tlhIngan Hol, as "veqlargh") was the name given to both a mytho-theological Klingon spirit as well as a divergent species of that race. Fek'lhr is the leader of the Fek'Ihri, an almost demonic race of aliens that inspired much of the Klingons current mythology, ruling over a domain of torment for dishonored warriors he was considered neither a god nor a devil by the Klingons but nevertheless served an important role in their belief system. After Fek'Ihr's death an unusual resonance signature is found after a scan of his body is performed. Theses readings match signatures recorded at archaeological sites containing Hur'q technology and implies that Fek'lhr may of been a creation of the Hur'q. (DS9: "Image in the Sand" • "The Siege of AR-558") In 2367, a con artist claiming herself to be Ardra briefly appeared as Fek'lhr, using holographic technology. (TNG: "Devil's Due" ) It was insinuated by Ardra that Fek'lhr is roughly the Klingon version of a devil. This is probably not a proper equivalent, however, as Kang says in TOS: "Day of the Dove" that Klingon beliefs do not recognize a devil archetype. (Star Trek: The Next Generation Companion) Fek'lhr is not considered a deity, either, because DS9: "Homefront" establishes that Klingon legend states that the Klingons killed their gods.

The IKS Fek'lhr was named after Fek'lhr. (DS9: "Image in the Sand", "The Siege of AR-558") When B'Elanna Torres entered Gre'thor, she was surprised to not see a pit of despair and Fek'lhr torturing the dishonored. By the time of Star Trek Online however it came to light that Fek'Ihr was more than just a myth and that he was a very real and dangerous threat to the Klingon Empire - standing three times taller than most humanoids and resembling a bestial perversion of Klingon physiology he lorded over the Fek'Ihri Horde and was faced by brave Klingon warriors to save the Klingon Empire. After Fek'Ihr's death an unusual resonance signature is found after a scan of his body is performed.
