Macabre Macabre
rdfs:comment
A Macabre is an enemy monster found in 2300 A.D. in Chrono Trigger. A work of art with grim or ghastly atmosphere. Macabre works of art or fiction tend to emphasize the details and symbols of death. Danse Macabre or the "Dance of Death" works of art tend to depict the dead or Death itself summoning representatives from all walks of life to dance along to the grave. They were created to remind people of the fragility of their lives and how vain the glories of earthly life are. It is believed to originate from illustrated sermon texts. The Macabre is an enemy in Chrono Trigger that appears in Death Peak in the Future (2300 AD). Vulnerable to fire, this undead creature is best handled by Lucca or Magus. |} My past...is not for those of the faintest heart. The memories of which...hard I try with ways to part. The events unfold like the maiden releasing her hair. I'll tell thee my tale, but I warn thee....beware: The next few moments are filled with that of graphic nature. I warned you, my friend...My past is for only the mature. From [[w:|]][[Category: derivations|Macabre]] macabre, whose etymology is uncertain. Most commonly believed to be from corruption of the biblical name Maccabees; compare French danse macabre, presumably from Latin Chorea Machabæorum. Possibly from [[w:|]][[Category: derivations|Macabre]] macabro, from [[w:|]][[Category: derivations|Macabre]] مقابر (“‘cemetery’”), plural of مقبرة, but the Arabic etymology is rejected by Romance linguists. Oddly enough, when Emirate Xaaron and the Wreckers planned Operation: Volcano, Macabre did not appear to be on their list of intended targets - possibly because he's just a small-time thug who is awed by the likes of Octane. Sadly for him, Octane and the other Decepticons also treat Macabre with little more than contempt, so he is constantly looking to prove himself to them. This is why he really wants to kill Emirate Xaaron. Everything on this page is subject to change as necessary, and should be taken as guidelines for the character rather than hard rules. Of note, the IDW background for the character is unthemely; see Theme.

My past...is not for those of the faintest heart. The Macabre is an enemy in Chrono Trigger that appears in Death Peak in the Future (2300 AD). Vulnerable to fire, this undead creature is best handled by Lucca or Magus. Everything on this page is subject to change as necessary, and should be taken as guidelines for the character rather than hard rules. Of note, the IDW background for the character is unthemely; see Theme. |} A Macabre is an enemy monster found in 2300 A.D. in Chrono Trigger.
