Episode 412 (8th December 1977)
rdfs:comment
Amos continues with his negative attitude towards the play but it turns out that his real grouse is that no one asked him to be in the play in the first place. Rumours persist about the man called Richard. Amos emerges with the theory that he is Dolly's fiance and thinks that she's led Matt a bit of a dance but Henry points out that Richard may be only an ex-fiance. In the evening while the rest of the village are at the rehearsal, Annie has a talk with Dolly and the whole story comes out. Dolly and Richard were going to get married but Richard's mother wouldn't allow it. There was, however, one huge snag left by the broken engagement. Dolly was pregnant and somewhere is an adopted son which Richard wants to find.
