"Darkness, or the True Sith, were an extremely hostile empire led by a group of Force users who desired to restore the Sith ways of old and purge the Galaxy of all else. They were led by Lord Valentine and his apprentice, Krensus Adalar. Other notable members of this group included Sirius, Rannek, Molnek, Daigon, and Lamina. Instead of a large public empire, Darkness took small and insignificant planets that would not be noticed. When outright takeovers were not beneficial, they resorted to bribery, criminal activities, subversion, or outright assassination to gain influence in the planet. The group had a sizable fleet slowly developed over several years which it used to wreck havoc on the Order of Sovereignty for a short time before being stopped. The first public attack the Massacre at Yavin where a portion of Darkness' fleet attacked a small Nymean colony. They took several thousand prisoners from the defending fleet and the surface, none of which were ever heard from again. They did not intend on occupying the moon because they knew Sovereignty reinforcements would shortly arrive in force. After securing their prisoners and leaving a gruesome token of slaughtered bodies behind, they left for further attacks. Their next wave of terror was a triple pronged attack on Sovereign planets. Krensus and Rannek led engaged in the Destruction of Ryloth resulting in the near utter destruction of the habitable surface. Sirius and Daigon attacked Eriadu where they overwhelmed the defenders and initiated bombardment upon the populated areas of the planet. The third attack involved Valentine and Molnek who attacked Kuat resulting in the decisive Battle of Kuat. While their attacks succeeded in causing great destruction, they also proved to be the undoing of the True Sith. On Ryloth, Rannek was captured by Sylitius while Daigon was killed on Eriadu. On Kuat, while the shipyards were nearly totally destroyed, the Darkness fleet was ambushed and Valentine himself was killed. After the triple attack, the remnants of Darkness' fleet suffered a split. Molnek took the survivors of the fleet that went to Kuat as well as scattered groups that defected from other areas and conquered Nam Chorios to hole up. Sirius tried to kill Krensus and many soldiers and officers simply deserted. Without their charismatic and demanding leader, the organization fell apart."@en . "Michael Karl Richards som Maj. "Darkness, also called Lightlessness, is the absence of light."@en . . "Darkness is usually the symbol of evil. Often, it is classified as a type of energy that the villain draws upon. In many good vs. evil stories, light is the good, the antithesis of the evil darkness. Examples of Darkness as a symbol of evil comes from the fact it is used in many villains names, the "Prince of Darkness" (sometimes called "King of Darkness") is also a fairly common alternative name for The Devil himself - also in many fantasy settings the word "Dark" is suggestive of an evil-version of a species of faction that is normal good (or even a more malignant type of an already evil species/faction) - examples of this are the Dark Elves (from many different settings) and Dark Eldar (from Warhammer 40K). In many religions and philosophies, darkness is seen as one of the most ancient forces, predating almost all things and in many ways, being related to the Greek concept of chaos (an empty void that existed before the "ordered" universe) - this darkness is not always seen as evil but it can be seen as negative, especially in the fact it represents either an abscence of life or order - both of which are seen by many as unwanted states of existence. Darkness can also be represented as a sentient - or at the least intelligent - force in itself, whenever this is applied it is almost always evil. Examples of darkness being seen as sentient or somehow "alive" can be seen in the villain type known as the or Dark Lord, depending on the writer. Darkness is also used to classify a work of fiction as containing mature and often depressing and/or disturbing content such as death and suffering - it can also be used to refer to a personality-type that is prone to more negative thoughts or actions, such as a fixation on death or suffering: some subcultures (especially Goths and Emos) deliberately idolise this personality-type and may dress in black and listen to music that deals with angst or death as part of their identity."@en . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . "It is indicated that the Corruption and the Darkness are one and the same; if so, then the Darkness, like the Corruption, has its roots in the history of the first Archon and Hero, William Black. When William Black entered the Void to claim the Sword of Aeons, he was afflicted with a plague that began to waste his body away. It is revealed in Fable: The Journey that many years after William Black defeated the Court and founded the Old Kingdom, he returned to the Void and cast away the plague, which formed into the Corruption and the Darkness. The Darkness is an extremely dangerous entity that instantly kills or destroys anything that it touches, only weakened by the light that it can consume. As Theresa explains at the end of Fable III, a world consumed by the Darkness would be devoid of colour and devoid of life. Although intelligent, the Darkness cannot be reasoned or bartered with, which makes its single-minded resolve to consume Albion that much more frightening. The Darkness completely destroyed all vestiges of civilization in Aurora, save for the once-thriving City of Aurora. It is because of the threat posed by the Darkness that Logan became a tyrant in an effort to collect enough gold to fight off the Darkness and save Albion. After the revolution, this duty falls to Logan's younger sibling, the Hero of Brightwall. The new Hero King/Queen can only save Albion from the Darkness by either breaking his/her promises and becoming a tyrant like Logan for the greater good or by donating a great sum of gold from their personal treasury to the Royal Treasury. Failure to do so results in 6,500,000 civilians being massacred, which further results in a very empty and desolate Albion for the player to explore after completing the game. Although the Hero of Brightwall canonically defeated the Darkness, it returns in Samarkand ten years later in Fable: Edge of the World, ultimately defeating Albion's last, greatest Hero and imprisoning him. This paves the way for the Corruptor to take over Albion, and forces Theresa to rely on an ordinary Dweller, Gabriel, to save Albion from its impending doom."@en . The darkness is almost a monster waiting to swallow you whole. It is the absence of light. Scientifically it is only possible to have a reduced amount of light. The emotional response to an absence of light has inspired metaphor in literature, symbolism in art, and emphasis. The story of the Light versus the Darkness is one that everyone thinks that they know. The Light is good and the Dark is bad. However, this is too broad of a generalization, for not all of those who follow the Light can be considered to be "good," and many good people do indeed follow the Dark—you may even know a few yourself. Underneath all of the issues the Light and the Dark are very simple. It simply has to do with one's personal point of view. A person who sees the world as a bad place, who sees nothing good anywhere he or she turns, and who thinks that there is no hope of anything better is someone who has a "dark" mind. These people are not necessarily followers of the Dark, but they ARE the basis of that particular orientation. On the other hand, a person who has a positive outlook on life, who tries to find the good in everything, and who often tries to point out that the world is not as bad as people think is a person who is of the Light. Neither one of these ways of thinking is necessarily right or wrong, and both can make good arguments for their own point of view, which is where, ultimately, the problem lies. Over the years, all of the wars and conflicts that have taken place for anything other than land disputes have been somehow in the form of Light against Dark (in the universe of Firefly Cross, not necessarily always true in our own history). People who had extreme opinions on either side would spark up problems. Once the problems had begun, other people who would normally have been more in the middle, would choose one side or the other based on their opinions at that time, and wars would develop. This is how the whole problem began. The designations of "Light" and "Dark" began to be used to differentiate between the two sides, for "good and evil" were not appropriate since neither side was good and neither side was evil. For it is true that too much light can do as much or more harm than too much darkness, and wherever you find one, the other must surely exist. They are exact opposites, but there will never be one without the other, they must balance each other. As a quick explination of these two sides as they related to the different conflitcs that arose: Dark: Followers of the Dark with be those with very pessimistic attitudes. They find fault with everything in the world, and humans are one of the greatest sources of those faults. They like to use creatures that aren't human and can be easily controlled, giving anyone too much freedom is a recipe for disaster in their eyes. The negative aspect of the Dark's view is that nothing positive can ever come from it, there are always more and more problems to solve, the world is never a good enough place for them. A leader of the Dark may try to conquer the world in order to force his view on how things should be done upon the people, in other words conquer in the name of an idea. (Such as Hitler and the Nazis attempted—there were many people who saw them as heros, and as the Christians acted in the Crusades.) After Fate took control of these conflicts, they started to be more organized and simple. With the power that Fate had given to each side, there were fewer people just "in the middle." Everyone chose one side or another to be behind this power. There were fewer "innocents" in the struggles. As the power on each side began to grow, creatures of magic began to appear that were created by and would supplement the power of each side. For the Light, the creatures that were created included the likes of unicorns, nymphs, and dryads. Darklings were creatures such as vampires and werewolves. After a time, it became possible to gauge the power of the Light and the Dark based on how many of these creatures existed. It so happened that after Fate took over, the Light began to win almost every battle against the Dark. This was due mainly to the Dark's negative outlook, they were constantly underestimating the Light, while the Light's positive outlook gave them confidence in every battle. This is when the concepts of Dark and Light as evil and good began to emerge. People thought that the "good" would always triumph. Even so, this angered the agents of the Dark, and eventually pushed them to take actions which concluded with the control of the battle outside of Fate's total control. (see the page on the history in order to get this in more detail. This is where the two pages begin to cross information.) Once Fate began to lose control, everything began to change. All the centuries of control after the initial chaos broke down, and the conflicts became more chaotic than they had ever been. Since Fate's control still had some influence over the Dark, she was able to hold them together fairly well, but the Light began to fall apart, and when a foolish keeper was chosen, the Light was finally defeated...and it was to remain defeated from that day on. In the present time of Firefly Cross, the Dark has ruled from more than a thousand years, and their power has only grown in all that time. The people of this world are very cynical, and cannot seem to see the good in anything. The Light has become nearly non-existent. All of the creatures of the Light, Unicorns and such, have long since gone extinct, and all that remains of the Light's power is Chaerius (the dragon), Ra'yl (the guardian), and the sword, Ra'grathon. Fate has charged these few and their new keeper with an important task. Their role is not to be victorious, for the Light does not have enough power for that to be possible, but they are to try to bring the conflict back under Fate's control. They are to stop the Dark and reduce their power to that of the Light, so that it all may begin again."@en . . "Σκοτάδι"@en . . . . . The Realm of Darkness is also one of the three known realms in the Kingdom Hearts universe, along with the Realm Between, and the Realm of Light. Though darkness is mostly used by the series's villains and is believed to be pure evil, it is not entirely malevolent; friendly characters are able to use the powers of darkness to some effect, ranging from opening the Corridors of Darkness to projecting dark energy blasts (one of Riku's abilities in Kingdom Hearts II). Additionally, King Mickey, a heroic character, uses the Kingdom Key D, which originates in the Realm of Darkness. Nonetheless, different characters have different views on darkness; Aqua regards it as nothing but "hate and rage," while Mickey insists that light and darkness are interdependent and cannot exist without one another. Nearly all beings have darkness in their hearts, but the levels of darkness and light vary from person to person. For instance, Sora has less darkness in his heart than Pete or Maleficent. There are a few exceptions to this rule, however, as all seven of the Princesses of Heart naturally have hearts completely devoid of darkness. As a result of Master Xehanort forcibly removing the darkness from his heart, Ventus's heart is pure light as well. When Nobodies or Replicas are defeated, they usually fade back into the darkness. It is unknown what it is like at their final destination, or if they retain any consciousness at all."@en . . . "---"@en . . "Mark Burgess som Jeremy Franklin"@sv . It is the fourth of the six arch villains in the Stupid Mario Bros series (alongside Bowser, Nox Decious, Wario, Blaire Vherestorm and Ganondorf.). Eventually, the Darkness redeems itself and joins the Mushroom Force, betraying Decious in the process. But after what seemed to be his death once and for all, the Darkness left Mario's spirit and overtime manifested itself into a physical being once more, and over the course of 30 years, plotted the events of the Plumber Knight, manipulating events and everyone in Ferrell City to kill an aging retired Mario. Eventually, he seemingly meets his final end at the hands of Luigi in the exact same field that he was killed in by Wario twice before, who seals him away inside of the Truth Stone, and Mario buries it deep in the forest nearby.
