Most Morlocks voluntarily (or, in some cases, involuntarily) took on inhuman appearances at the hands of the Morlock facial sculptor, Masque. Sally's force field protected her from Masque's power, allowing her to maintain her normal appearance, leading to resentment from some Morlocks. At one point, Skids encountered Rusty Collins, who was being pursued by the Freedom Force (government-chartered mutant enforcers composed of former members of the Brotherhood of Peel was a big supporter of the band and saw them play live on at least one occasion, probably twice [1]. The track "TV Stars" recorded for the group's debut session namechecks Peel. According to singer Richard Jobson, it was made up on the spot during the session itself [2]. A live version of this was released as the b-side to the group's fourth single, 'Into The Valley'.

He also uses an electron blaster, which emits a burst of 20,000 volts and can short-circuit virtually any mechanical foe. In Honda City Turbo mode, his brakes, by far the best among the Autobots and courtesy of Wheeljack's genius, can decelerate him from 50 mph to zero within 25 feet. Of course, such sudden stops aren't too good for the well-being of any car, including Skids. Skids isn't a very fast car. His daydreaming often puts him in very dangerous situations. Often, he can be trapped into letting his guard down when distracted by something that piques his scientific curiosity. Before the evil mutants could take them in, a mob of humans attacked the Freedom Force. In the confusion, Skids and Rusty escaped. Skids tried to get Rusty to the safety of the underground home of the Morlocks, but the Freedom Force caught up with them again, this time in the sewers beneath New York. The Force member Blob was pounding Rusty into the sewer wall when the mutant hero team X-Factor arrived. After a brief skirmish, Freedom Force retreated.
