PC Binding

PC Binding investigated when Des Barnes' car and house windows were smashed with bricks. Des suspected the culprit to be Les Battersby, but it was in fact Ritchie Fitzgerald, the jealous estranged husband of Des' girlfriend, Samantha Failsworth. In June 1998, he took great delight in investigating a complaint from Janice Battersby about Les parking his camper van in the Street. The constable thought that he would catch the banned Les driving, but it turned out to be just a domestic dispute.

Finally in August of the same year, he investigated Toyah Battersby's hoax bomb warning to Only 16 magazine in retaliation for them not publishing the article she had sent in about how sad older people were for trying to dress younger. The threat had been traced by the police to the Battersbys' phone.
