Sebastian Burroughs
rdfs:comment
Sebastian Burroughs, like most of the early Free Democrats, was elected to Parliament in April 3112. His early and enthusiastic support for Party Leader Esabelle de Pourbaix proved to help him greatly. As a reward for his early support, de Pourbaix named Burroughs the first Deputy Leader of the Free Democrats. He also announced that every two years the party would hold a conference in December in order to update the party platform and elect the Executive Committee. Burroughs asked MP's to challenge him for the leadership in order to hold a real vote of confidence.

Despite the huge defeat of the Free Democrats in the 3116 elections, Burroughs was reelected to Parliament. After de Pourbaix resigned as leader, Burroughs was unanimously selected as the party's new leader. He was viewed by other parties as a strong leader and when President James MacLeod named a cabinet, Burroughs was named Prime Minister. He also announced that every two years the party would hold a conference in December in order to update the party platform and elect the Executive Committee. Burroughs asked MP's to challenge him for the leadership in order to hold a real vote of confidence. However, Burroughs underestimated the candidates who decided to challenge him. Ultimately he won reelection on the third ballot but with only 54.2% of the vote. After days of mounting pressure, Burroughs resigned as leader of the Free Democrats but decided to remain Prime Minister until a new cabinet could be formed. He remained in Parliament until 3120 when he retired. His wife died a year later from cancer at the age of 47. Cyril Burroughs became a noted political commentator until his death in 3195 at the age of 94. Paul Burroughs acted in a series of films and died in 3175 at the age of 71. Andrew Burroughs was elected to the Windsor City Council and served for two decades before his death in 3186 at the age of 76.
