He served as the primary antagonist from Volume 17: Something to Fear to Volume 21: All Out War, Part 2. He later becomes a recurring antagonist, bordering an anti-hero, from Volume 22: A New Beginning to Volume 26: Call to Arms. He becomes an anti-hero in Volume 27: The Whisperer War and onward. Negan (pronounced KNEE-gan) is a main character first introduced in Issue 100 of Image Comics' The Walking Dead and is the former leader of the Saviors and is a primary antagonist in the Comic Series. He uses his authority and resources to subjugate other communities, such as the Hilltop Colony, The Kingdom, and later the Alexandria Safe-Zone, into paying tribute to The Saviors, in exchange for protection against walkers. His Favourite weapon is Lucille. His first appearance in the game was in the Roadmap Mission, Saviors: Part 1, as an Ally. After Rick Grimes and his fellow survivors agree to begin a trading relationship with the Hilltop Colony, they are ambushed by the Saviors and are forced to obey Negan's orders to give the Saviors half of their supplies, as the other communities do. Initially obedient, Rick and the others secretly conspire with other communities in the DC area to prepare for war against the Saviors. Negan resides in an abandoned factory, where most of the attractive women, formerly other men's girlfriends or wives, act as his wives. He soon grows fond of Rick's son, Carl Grimes.

Negan (pronounced KNEE-GAN) is a character from The Walking Dead comic book series and TV series. He is also the titular main protagonist of his backstory, Here's Negan. Although other villains exist throughout the series, Negan has been the biggest and most dangerous threat that Rick and his group have ever faced, even more so than both The Governor and Alpha. As a result, overall, he is the primary antagonist of the comic series, in front of The Governor and Alpha. In the television series, Negan is the primary antagonist from the second half of Season 6 onwards. Negan is the totalitarian leader of the Saviors, a hostile group of outbreak survivors that are pitted against Rick Grimes' group. In the series, Negan is portrayed by Jeffrey Dean Morgan. After Rick Grimes and his fellow survivors agree to begin a trading relationship with the Hilltop Colony, they are ambushed by the Saviors and are forced to obey Negan's orders to give the Saviors half of their supplies, as the other communities do.
