After forming the needed signals, the user creates a unique seal in the ground around them with their chakra while in a meditative stance. Then, when the user forms the final hand seal, the seal expands over a large radius and a dense blast of senbon needles burst forth from the ground and rise high into the air until they disappear in a blast of smoke. The senbon come from and return to the Lord of Needles, who lives in a remote village near Kumogakure. Because the needles rise from the ground at a rapid rate and continue to be summoned for a few seconds, anyone who is foolish enough to enter the seal is pierced over and over again, with death a certainty. This technique however swallows a lot of chakra and leaves the user fatigued.

Kenno was able to create his own version of the technique, the Storm Release: Sagii-Style Art, Needle Fountain, using Storm Release chakra instead of needles. This gives him more control over the technique and it is more powerful.
