rdfs:comment
The Radical Party is a political organization in the space controlled by House Lionheart. Basically, it wants to abolish the rule of the Lionhearts and introduce the rule by a republic and expansion of democracy. It's program includes abolition of the rule of the Prince and Princess, dissolution of the House of Aristocrats, and removing the status of the United God Movement as the state religion. The Radicals are divided over whether their section of the Known Universe should unite with the United Republic of Earth or establish an independent republic. Radicals who favor the latter course favor a parliamentary system dominated by the House of Commons. The Radical Party was originally founded in the early 2344 by a national communist radical Voja Šešelj, who belonged to a family of slavic immigrants. The party was originally named the National Bolshevik Party and followed the same ideology as its Russian counterpart. In they year 2352, the NBP renamed itself to a Radical Party and adopted a new program, more adopted to the local conditions and has remained loyal to it's original ideology. The radical party was a group of Jedi Knights and apprentices that rallied around Jedi Master Kyp Durron during the Yuuzhan Vong War. They advocated a more aggressive stand against the Yuuzhan Vong which did not take New Republic concerns into account. Although never expelled from the New Jedi Order, they came into conflict with Luke Skywalker's leadership, which most of the other masters rallied around. While the radicals argued that the Force was with them, the numbers were against them. During the war, Durron's aggressive stance saw him become increasingly isolated from the rest of the Jedi Order. Additionally, many prominent followers of Durron were either killed or came to believe that Durron himself was unstable. Eventually, the radicals were somewhat co-opted when Luke Skywalker placed Durron on the High Council when Cal Omas became Chief of State. The moderate leadership of the Radical Party favors peaceful methods, but there are truly radical Radicals who favor using violence, including geurrilla warfare and even terrorism to overthrow Lionheart rule.
