Kessie
rdfs:comment
Kessie is the adoptive daughter of Rabbit and a main character in the Winnie the Pooh franchise. She is a bluebird who was first introduced in The New Adventures of Winnie the Pooh, and was a main character in The Book of Pooh. Kessie first appeared as a chick in The New Adventures of Winnie the Pooh episode "Find Her, Keep Her". Kessie is cheerful, brave and eager to prove herself. Rabbit saved her from a snowstorm and she came to live with him. As a baby, she nicknamed him "Rabbie". Rabbit was very protective of her and initially did want her flying. After she finally learned to fly, she migrated south for the winter, despite a reluctant Rabbit. Voiced by Laura Mooney (as a chick), Stephanie D'Abruzzo (as an adult) and most recently Amanda Maddock (as a puppet). Kessie is an inquisitive bird and eager to prove herself. In "The Book of Pooh" episode, "Kessie Wises Up," her curious nature leads her to ask Owl to teach her everything that there is to know. She sang the song "I Want to Know Everything Now" to express this. Owl didn’t think was possible, but did advise her to go out and explore, observing what she saw around her, as this is the best way to learn. In "It's a Bird? Yes!" from the same series, Kessie styled herself as a caped superhero known as the Plumed Protector but due to not knowing the meaning of being a superhero, was concerned only with vanity, until Owl told her.

After she flew south, Kessie returned in the episode "A Bird in the Hand" as an adult. In her adult appearance, everyone keeps an eye on her from being captured by Stan and Heff. In later appearances, she has reverted to being a young bird. After appearing in Seasons of Giving, Kessie was relaunched as a main character in The Book of Pooh, her first regular role. In the series, she is depicted as a puppet. Voiced by Laura Mooney (as a chick), Stephanie D'Abruzzo (as an adult) and most recently Amanda Maddock (as a puppet). Kessie is the adoptive daughter of Rabbit and a main character in the Winnie the Pooh franchise. She is a bluebird who was first introduced in The New Adventures of Winnie the Pooh, and was a main character in The Book of Pooh. Kessie’s voices include Laura Mooney and Tracy Rowe (during The New Adventures of Winnie the Pooh and in Winnie the Pooh: Seasons of Giving by Amber Hood) In The Book of Pooh, she was initially voiced by Stephanie D’Abruzzo and later by Amanda Maddock. It is unknown if Kessie will reappear in any future Winnie-the-Pooh material, as she did in "The Book of Pooh". It is uncertain as to how Kessie got to the Hundred Acre Wood, as bluebirds are not found in Britain and it can be assumed that the series is set there.
