Batmeks are one of the Evil Horde's most used armored flying vehicles. They are unmanned flying machines that are usually controlled by an onboard computer, ensuring that members of the Great Rebellion see no harm in destroying the vehicles when possible. However, it is possible to override the automatic pilot and have a Horde Trooper pilot the Batmek. Several Rebels escaped Beast Island in a commandeered Batmek, and Hordak unleashed an entire fleet of them in the battle of Bright Moon.

Batmeks are capable of flying into outer space. At one time Hordak ordered a squadron of Batmeks to shoot down an Argonian Spaceship that was passing Etheria. Confusingly, members of the Great Rebellion tend to refer to all of the Horde's air borne vehicles as Horde Flyers. This includes the Batmek, the Annihilator, the Horde Jet Machine, the Glonder and the Horde Sky Cycle.
