Fair Folk is a term used to describe the beings who dwell beyond the elemental poles in the Wyld. The mortals of Creation believe (and they're not entirely wrong to think so) that the raksha are listening for, and summoned by, mention of their racial name. Fair Folk are the characters lead by King Eidilleg in Disney's The Black Cauldron. We all know that in popular culture, Fair Folks such as fairies, spirtes, and elves tend to be portrayed as a hero/ally for protagonists where famous examples would be Tinker Bell and Fairy Godmother. But if we dig their origins in myth, we would know that original Fairies of folklore were far from the sweet and innocent beings we have come to see them as in modern times. As threat, they can also become terrifying force to be reckoned with just like when dealing the demons or hellspawns. The unshaped Fair Folk who remain beyond the edges of Creation are hostile to all things of constant shape and form. A great number of Fair Folk, however, have entered the world and taken on shape. The vast majority of these beings are inimical to the beings of Creation — hunting down humans and feeding on their hopes and dreams — but a few do live among men as either lords or simple citizens. During the Great Contagion, the Host of Faerie rode out in a great crusade to bring an end to the blasphemy of shaped existence. Many or perhaps all Fair Folk behaved disagreeably with humans; Eiddeleg was vociferous and accusatory with the Companions, who had blundered into his realm; Doli's demeanor was generally gruff and critical; Gwystyl was gloomy and unhospitable. This attitude may have been a facade in order take a human's measure, or it may have represented their true feelings.
