- Average Height: 1.8 meters Average Lifespan: 150 years Proceeding through three distinct stages of maturity, Kubaz only gradually grow the elongated nozzle for which they are so well known. In their mature state, this nozzle eventually darkens in hue and withers. The rest of any Kubaz is virtually unknown except to the Kubaz themselves. An extreme photosensitivity makes it necessary for this species to wear dark goggles and cover their body almost completely.
- Kubaz have humanoid bodies and limbs with four broad, stubby fingers on each hand and two large toes on each foot. The most striking feature of the Kubaz face is the short prehensile trunk that serves as a nose. Kubaz have rough-textured greenish-black skins, and bristly hair grows from the tops of their heads. Kubaz eyes are extremely large and sensitive to the red wavelengths of light, so they wear protective lenses in most foreign environments.
- Eras ago, the intense solar flares from their planet's sun nearly destroyed the majority of food sources on the planet, and the Kubaz were forced to hunt insects as a staple diet. This led to the rival clans raiding each other's insect farms. These so-called Hive Wars were resolved when the Kubaz found a way to alter the genetics of their insects to not only improve their reproduction, but to identify an insect by its colorings as the property of a certain clan. This newly formed science of Insecticulture helped keep the rival clans from feuding, and also allowed the Kubaz to expand their horizons.
- Kubaz were aliens with a long proboscis that looked a bit like a Rodian that got its snout stuck in a revolving door. The Kubaz, though, differed in that they wore goggles, were shifty, and they loved to eat insects. Any kind of insect. Verpine, Vratix, Gand, Killik, anything. If it had compound eyes and an exoskeleton, the Kubaz would eat it. Sentience be damned, insects were healthier than a bantha burger, packed with protein and had a taste that just couldn't be beat.
