  • Average Height: 1.8 meters Average Lifespan: 150 years Proceeding through three distinct stages of maturity, Kubaz only gradually grow the elongated nozzle for which they are so well known. In their mature state, this nozzle eventually darkens in hue and withers. The rest of any Kubaz is virtually unknown except to the Kubaz themselves. An extreme photosensitivity makes it necessary for this species to wear dark goggles and cover their body almost completely.
  • Kubaz have humanoid bodies and limbs with four broad, stubby fingers on each hand and two large toes on each foot. The most striking feature of the Kubaz face is the short prehensile trunk that serves as a nose. Kubaz have rough-textured greenish-black skins, and bristly hair grows from the tops of their heads. Kubaz eyes are extremely large and sensitive to the red wavelengths of light, so they wear protective lenses in most foreign environments.
  • Eras ago, the intense solar flares from their planet's sun nearly destroyed the majority of food sources on the planet, and the Kubaz were forced to hunt insects as a staple diet. This led to the rival clans raiding each other's insect farms. These so-called Hive Wars were resolved when the Kubaz found a way to alter the genetics of their insects to not only improve their reproduction, but to identify an insect by its colorings as the property of a certain clan. This newly formed science of Insecticulture helped keep the rival clans from feuding, and also allowed the Kubaz to expand their horizons.
  • Kubaz were aliens with a long proboscis that looked a bit like a Rodian that got its snout stuck in a revolving door. The Kubaz, though, differed in that they wore goggles, were shifty, and they loved to eat insects. Any kind of insect. Verpine, Vratix, Gand, Killik, anything. If it had compound eyes and an exoskeleton, the Kubaz would eat it. Sentience be damned, insects were healthier than a bantha burger, packed with protein and had a taste that just couldn't be beat.

Many Kubaz had planned to capture and sauté Karina the Great, but were disappointed when her temple collapsed and thus flattened the potential feast.

  • Kubaz eram uma espécie Senciente.
Over time, the Kubaz eventually discovered space travel, and soon populated three of the eleven worlds orbiting the sun Ku'Bakai. This ability to move off-planet then introduced the Kubaz to their neighbors, the Verpine. Because the Verpine are an insectile race by nature, the space-faring Kubaz decided that the Verpine would be very tasty, and began to hunt them as an additional food source. This activity was deemed illegal by the Galactic Senate, although poachers still operated on the fringes of the Old Republic. During the era of the New Order, the Kubaz were known to have started work on their own hyperdrive systems, but were thwarted by Imperial sabotage. When the Kubaz discovered the Empire's treachery, many individuals chose to leave their homeworld and join the Alliance. When the Yuuzhan Vong took control of Ku'Bakai V, some twenty-seven years after the Battle of Yavin, they exterminated virtually every insect species which had been cultivated by the Kubaz. This left the surviving population with little or no food, and many Kubaz starved to death because they were unable to consume other types of food. After the end of the war with the Yuuzhan Vong, the surviving Kubaz began to return to their homeworld, in an effort to restore its former glory. While most beings see the Kubaz as spies and espionage agents, the Kubaz are also noted for their love of the arts and literature, as well as a love for learning that borders on obsessiveness. When meeting new beings or when in new situations, a Kubaz will ask question after question, almost to the point of annoying their companions. Most of their economy, technology, and government are based on their insecticulture.
Kubaz are cultured beings who place a high value on traditional values, art, music, and other forms of sophisticated entertainment although insect banquets are their favorite. Although they will not be insulted in a guest does not join them for an insect feast, they will certainly conclude that he lacks culture. Kubaz are natives of Kubindi, a large world circling the blue giant Ku'Bakai. This star is known for its magnificent solar flares, which have made Kubindi into an arid world given to unpredictable storms and oscillating weather patterns. The herbivorous forerunners of the Kubaz started eating insects after a powerful solar flare burned Kubindi's life away. To increase the variety of their meals, families began to exchange insect hives, and a planetary trading community soon developed. The development of trade led to more technological advances, and Kubaz society became increasingly complex. They developed rapid transport methods, computer technology for keeping track of accounts, and, eventually, space travel. Kubaz family members usually live in close proximity to each other, and Kubaz social policies are primarily determined by the desires of the larger trading families. Although Kubaz are not common sights in galactic spaceports, they have been in contact with the Empire for many years, and have become a cultured element of Imperial society, famous in some circles for the exotic cuisine of their homeworld. The Kubaz are extremely civilized, and consider tact and decorum to be among the most important aspects of life. Kubaz may have any available skills, although Kubaz who have not explored the galaxy will not have much skill with space travel or droids. Movie Reference: The alien informant on Tatooine who helped the Imperial stormtroopers on the search for the droids in the first movie (SW:ANH) was a Kubaz.

In their mature state, this nozzle eventually darkens in hue and withers. The rest of any Kubaz is virtually unknown except to the Kubaz themselves. An extreme photosensitivity makes it necessary for this species to wear dark goggles and cover their body almost completely. Originally from Kubindi, a vast world of dark canyons and bogs, the Kubaz fled their world long ago, and spend their lives in constant flight from world to world, never making a home for themselves. This nomadism has made it necessary for every Kubaz to familiarize themselves with the basic operation of starships... after all, you never can completely trust a hired pilot. The reason for the Kubaz migration is the key to understanding their tormented psyche: for the only thing that a Kubaz distrusts more than another sentient is another Kubaz. Paranoid often to the point of delusion, Kubaz cling in terrifyingly erratic relationships to non-Kubaz sentients, at once overwhelmed with fear that their acquaintances will betray them, and at the same time nearly hysteric at the thought of running across a fellow Kubaz. The former is compounded by the fact that they are almost unable to speak basic due to the honking sounds produced by their probiscus, and little able to understand it due to a complex ear structure that is better able to pick up rhythm than tone. To be sure that they are not betrayed, Kubaz often collect information on their friends with which to black-mail them, an often failed gesture considering their lack of verbal articulation. When Kubaz are especially frightened, they release a cloud of spores from their probiscus. When these spores meet the spores of another Kubaz and are mixed with water, a new Kubaz zygote begins to develop.
