On July 20, 2011, Capcom announced Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3, which was released in November 2011 and features additional characters, stages, gameplay tweaks and modes for a discount retail price.

Mega Man X made his debut in the series with this game, but only as Zero's DLC, but he had his own model and catchphrases.
