Synopsis
  • When Carl Ferris returns to Coast City to visit his daughter, he tells her romance troubles with Green Lantern would be over if she marries Hal Jordan, who he tells her is Green Lantern. At the Ferris Aircraft Company, Hal tells Pieface about the adventure he had in Paris where as he was coincidentally flying a plane into Paris he learned from visiting Mrs. Ferris that Carl had gone missing after going to buy an expensive painting. Changing into Green Lantern, Hal manages to break up an art-counterfeiting operation and save Carl. During the adventure, Green Lantern was exposed to a yellow gas that caused an allergic reaction on his skin everywhere except for the part of his face where he wears his mask. When he flew the Ferrises home, he tipped them off to his identity by that tell tale sign. Invited to dinner by Carol, who hopes to propose to Hal once she outs him as Green Lantern, Hal instead uses the coincidental French supper and his power ring to make it look as though he has an allergic reaction. Believing her father has made a mistake, Carol doesn't propose to Hal, and Hal is convinced that she still loves Green Lantern more than she does Hal Jordan.
  • When Doctor Polaris, a scientist who is an expert in magnetism becomes a media sensation, he also develops a split personality. His negative personality becoming the costumed criminal known as Dr. Polaris who ends up robbing the venues he attends in his positive personality. After battling Green Lantern during his first heist, Dr. Polaris manages to escape, however Hal follows him to his home and finds Polaris passed out at the door. Taking him to a hospital he uses his power ring to probe his mind and learns that he developed his split personality in a magnetism experiment that had him bombarded with magnetic energy. Dr. Polaris manages to escape the hospital and go on a rampage through Coast City, and in yet another clash with Green Lantern. After a brief battle, Green Lantern manages to defeat Polaris by shielding himself while creating a power ring fashioned football player to knock him out. After turning Polaris over to the police he returns to the Ferris Aircraft Company to tell Pieface the story.
