After Banjon set him down, Smudger was bold enough to try and run up the rickety old stairs leading to the upper attics, but Abbess Lycian grabbed him just in time. Following this, Sister Doral had to keep the rambunctious otterbabe from clambering out of the windows.

No information was given about his fate once the Mid Sodor Railway closed, so it must be assumed that he has either remained there, was moved to a different location, was restored back to working order, or was scrapped.
