That is why he is the best P.I. in the world. He usually gets in trouble with Lieutenant Douglas J. "Doug" Chapman and sometimes LAPD usualy want to bust him for carrying a Colt Detective Special revolver without a permit. But he talks his way out of trouble and he gets away it. Mostly the reason why he gets away with it with the LAPD, mostly he helps them solve a lot of tough cases that the LAPD cannot crack themselves. His father Joseph "Rocky" Rockford is a retired truck driver and worries about his son. Always helps him out in cases a lot and always helps him bails him out with the LAPD.
