Engage is an alternative metal band formed in the city of Medina, Ohio. Engage was started as a grunge project with the original lineup as Julian Quesada(16) on lead guitar, Andrew Stenger(16) on bass, John Skelton(16) on vocals, and Kylon Burkey(16) on drums. The genre of the band soon changed after acquiring a fifth member, a rhythm guitarist named Kyle Hutchinson(17). Engage practiced constantly for weeks, until releasing a demo song named "Here We Stand". It was a vocal-less demo, and recorded with rock band USB mics."We need to re-record our songs because every time I hear the ones we have now, I want to punch myself in the face". This was said by drummer Kylon Burkey, implying that the demo sounded like complete shit, it did indeed. The song was later changed, and renamed "Welcome to

This was said by drummer Kylon Burkey, implying that the demo sounded like complete shit, it did indeed. The song was later changed, and renamed "Welcome to the End", which is about a post-apocalyptic scenario . Upon releasing this song, and practicing constantly, this brought them to their first ever live performance in front of a large audience (700+ in attendance), the PTSA Palooza. This was a charity event raised by the Boardman High School to help pay for upcoming scholarship funds. The winning band for the Palooza was a hardcore/ metalcore band named "In Legions". Back on their feet, Engage was only getting started. Engage had played another show in Lakewood, Ohio. They had played their first ever performance of their new song "Convicted", which is about a prisoner falsely accused and put on death row. After this second show, rhythm guitarist Kyle Hutchinson had left the band to continue his career in track and field. Soon after, Engage acquired Garrett Koketko(16) as their new rhythm guitarist. Continuing through several more shows, Engage came to an abrupt halt. They had lost their original drummer Kylon Burkey due to complications in the band. Soon after, Sal Calo(15) was hired as the new drummer. Just weeks after the coming of the new drummer, bassist Andrew Stenger was diagnosed with a minor case of Steven Johnsons Syndrome. After missing weeks of practice, Engage is now back and ready to make a move!
