Zuko Tokugawa was an officer in the Rebel Alliance and formerly in the Galactic Empire. He was the son of Ozai Tokugawa, a Moff, and brother of Azula Tokugawa, an Imperial Inquisitor. Growing up, he was neglected by his father, who viewed Azula as the protege while viewing Zuko to be a failure. In 4 BBY Zuko got into a argument with Ozai, during which he burned half of Zuko's face with a stove, scaring it. After that he left the family by joining the Imperial Army and attending the Raital Academy. Zuko graduated as a lieutenant and fought in a campaign against the Reblion, being awarded several medals. However, during one operation, he witnessed the Empire massacre civilians to eliminate a Rebel cell. That event began his disillusion with the Empire.
