  • Spike Milligan (April 16, 1918 – February 27, 2002) was a British comedian, writer, musician, poet, playwright, soldier and actor. He never had any Disney roles, but he did guest starred on The Muppet Show in episode 317.
  • This is Spike Milligan's biography. Terence Alan Patrick Seán Milligan KBE (16 April 1918–27 February 2002), known as Spike Milligan, was a comedian, writer, musician (he played the piano, trumpet, guitar and saxophone), poet and playwright. Milligan was the co-creator and the principal writer of The Goon Show in which he also performed.
  • Terry "Spike" Milligan was an Indian-born comic writer and poet who lived most of his life in either Britain or Australia, but identified as Irish. He was conscripted into the British Army during World War II and served with the Royal Artillery in North Africa and Italy, eventually recording his experiences as seven volumes of war diaries generally known by the title of the first volume, Adolf Hitler: My Part in His Downfall. Although During the War his main fame was as a jazz musician, after returning to Britain he broke into radio as a writer and broadcaster. Together with Peter Sellers, Harry Secombe and Michael Bentine, he created one of the most influential British comedies of all time, The Goon Show.
  • Instead of making horror films, Milligan was able to deceive the war office by creating his own string of thriller movies dealing with sensitive subjects in wartime, including rationing, the blackout and pregnant sex. Despite such criticism, the movies were very much a success, and Milligan was taken on by the British branch of 20th Century Fox to produce several propaganda pieces in both World War Two and the Cold War.
  • Spike Milligan KBE (born Terence Alan Milligan; 16 April 1918 – 27 February 2002) was a comedian, writer, musician, poet, playwright, soldier and actor of English and Irish parentage. His early life was spent in British India, where he was born, but the majority of his working life was spent in the United Kingdom.

Milligan was a key writer/performer on the radio comedy The Goon Show with Peter Sellers and Harry Secombe during the 1950s. He wrote more than 30 books -- novels, parodies of classics and children's verse. He is well known in Britain for his seven-volume comic autobiography about his experiences in World War II, which began with Adolf Hitler: My Part in his Downfall in 1971. In 1987, he also narrated a children's TV series called The Ratties created by his daughter Laura.
  • Milligan was the co-creator, main writer and a principal cast member of The Goon Show, performing a range of roles including the popular Eccles and Minnie Bannister characters. Milligan wrote and edited many books, including Puckoon and his seven-volume autobiographical account of his time serving during the Second World War, beginning with Adolf Hitler: My Part in His Downfall. He is also noted as a popular writer of comical verse; much of his poetry was written for children, including Silly Verse for Kids (1959). After success with the groundbreaking British radio programme, The Goon Show, Milligan translated this success to television with Q5, a surreal sketch show which is credited as a major influence on the members of Monty Python's Flying Circus.
