While the Navy kept the skies clear, Revan and Bastila, along with Georg Oakes, Nebelish, and the Marines, made their way through the severely-underpopulated settlement of Dreshdae before moving on through the deserted Sith Academy to the Valley of the Dark Lords. Once in the Valley, the four Jedi each led a platoon in clearing out the various tombs, with orders to destroy anything that might be of use to later generations of Sith or Dark Jedi. The valley itself, as well as the crypts, were discovered to have been devoid of sentient life for some time, with the ravaged corpses of fallen Sith scattered throughout the area. This did not mean that the area was deserted, as hssiss, shyracks, and tuk'ata had thrived on the flesh of the dead.

Once in the Valley, the four Jedi each led a platoon in clearing out the various tombs, with orders to destroy anything that might be of use to later generations of Sith or Dark Jedi. The valley itself, as well as the crypts, were discovered to have been devoid of sentient life for some time, with the ravaged corpses of fallen Sith scattered throughout the area. This did not mean that the area was deserted, as hssiss, shyracks, and tuk'ata had thrived on the flesh of the dead. The Marine force suffered several casualties from beast attacks as well as traps that were still active in some of the more isolated tombs. Within the tomb of Ludo Kreesh Nebelish succumbed to the intense dark side presence and, thinking that the Marines under his command were Sith, he attacked them. His rampage was halted only when Revan intervened, striking down the erstwhile Jedi in self-defense. Realizing that nothing else of value was to be found that was worth yet more lives, Revan and Bastila chose to abandon the expedition entirely. Not long afterward, the former Dark Lord created a holocron before leaving the Republic entirely and venturing into the Unknown Regions.
