When the Covenant began attacking in 2525 when he was five, his parents were shocked, and Danny grew up watching news reports of how the humans were being wiped out. When he was old enough, he joined the Marines like so many had done before. He journeyed to Reach and the naval academy there, and became friends with Johnny Lands, a fellow trainee. When their training was complete, they were sent back to their home system, and joined Squad Oh-Two-Six as part of Marine Battalion 324. The human battlegroup, consisting of three frigates and a destroyer, was decimated, and only the ship Danny was aboard, the UNSC Light Before Dawn, escaped. It went on a random slipspace jump and damaged its engines. In the middle of deep space, they discovered a large asteroid with several strange installations on it, as well as an atmophere. They landed the LBD on this strange locale and called for help....
