  • The Tusken Raiders or Sandman are minor antagonists in the 1977 movie Star Wars: A New Hope and it's 1999 and 2002 prequels The Phantom Menace and Attack of the Clones. In their first appearance in episode four, they were referred to as the Sandpeople. They are nomadic bandits who live on the fringes of society on the desert planet Tatooine.
  • In "The Courtship of Stewie's Father", Peter Griffin conducts a choir composed of Tusken Raiders. They later run away, but Obi-Wan Kenobi warns Griffin they will return in greater numbers. In Blue Harvest, they assume their roles in Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope. Opie appears as a Tusken Raider that tries to attack Chris Griffin in the role of Luke Skywalker.

Extremely territorial and xenophobic, Tusken Raiders will attack with very little provocation. They show no allegiance to even their native world-mates, as these nomads have attacked Jawa scouting parties on occasion. They have even gathered numbers large enough to attack the outskirts of smaller towns like Anchorhead. • The Sand People of Tatooine, also called the Tusken Raiders, are a nomadic species with violent tendencies. To protect themselves from the harsh desert environment, Sand People wear heavy robes and strips of cloth, breath masks, and eye protectors. The very agressive Sand People live in an uneasy truce with Tatooine's moisture farmers. They have been known to attack settlements from time to time. Travelling in small tribes atop their banthas, these nomads are experts at desert survival. Their traditional weapon is the gaderffi stick, but they have been known to use primitive blasters, likely taken from moisture farmers or stolen from Jawas, from time to time.
  • The Tusken Raiders (more commonly known as Sand People) are NPC faction in Star Wars: Battlefront and are playable only in Hunt mode on Tatooine: Mos Eisley in Star Wars: Battlefront II. In Battlefront I, they shoot everyone that comes near them, and have unlimited troops. They can be eliminated from the battle on the Tatooine: Dune Sea by taking both of their bases (The Cisterns and the Tusken Camp) They are not stupid enough to attack ships such as the AAT's, but they are constantly killed by the Sarlacc. In Battlefront II, you can be the Tusken Raiders in hunt mode, and you must kill the Jawas (Who are armed with arc caster like guns). It should be noted that winning as a Tusken is rather challenging. Both variants of Tusken Raiders have blasters that fire green projectiles.

Tusken Raiders are a restricted race, and an application must be sent to the RPAdmin in order to play one. Only five Tusken Raiders are allowed at any given time.

Females can be distinguished by their elaborate jeweled masks with eyeslits and torso-covering sand-shrouds. Tusken children wear unisex cowls and simple cloaks. For transportation, Sand People have domesticated the hardy bantha -- a longhaired spiral-horned quadruped also found on Tatooine. These nomads purposely travel in single file, to conceal their numbers.

In SWBFI they have infinite reinforcements as long as they can keep a Command Post, however, if you can capture them all then they are quikly wiped out from the map (Tatooine: Dune Sea). They are also in SWBFII hunt mode were they are pitted against Jawas and tend to lose. Even though Jawa's are usually non-aggressive creatures and are easily hunted down by the Tuskens.
