- Marka Ragnos was an ancient Dark Lord of the Sith whose tomb was located on Korriban. The Sith Lord died many years before the Jedi Civil War, where Revan travelled to Korriban and entered the tomb of Ragnos. The Sith Lord had buried himself with gauntlets designed specifically for him, and restricted to users of the Dark Side. The Dark Lord was resurrected by Tavion during the rise of the New Jedi Order through the use of the Scepter of Ragnos. Ragnos inhabited Tavion's body and fought Jaden Korr, who defeated the ressurected Dark Lord and ended the reign of terror of the Disciples of Ragnos.

- Marka Ragnos was the first ever Sith Emperor and a Dark Lord of the Sith during the old Sith Empire and its Golden Age. The Golden Age came to an end with his death. A young Sith named Tenebrae became the ruler of Medriaas. At age 13, his powers managed to impress Dark Lord Marka Ragnos, ruler of the Sith Empire. Marka Ragnos then recognized him as the ruler of Medriaas and renamed him as Lord Vitiate.
