Melissa Sing is the widowed wife of Steven Sing, who died while attempting to arrest Jigsaw along with his partner David Tapp. She held Tapp responsible as it was his idea to investigate Jigsaw's lair without getting a warrant first. She began to neglect her and Steven's son Franklin. This led her and her son to be kidnapped by Jigsaw as part of Tapp's game in Saw: The Video Game. Melissa was put in a trap called the "Iron Maiden Trap", which would snap shut saw blades which would kill Melissa. Tapp managed to free her but she continued to blame him for her husband's death and told Tapp she could never forgive him. She had later ran off, leaving Tapp behind.

Melissa was put in a trap called the "Iron Maiden Trap", which would snap shut saw blades which would kill Melissa. Tapp managed to free her but she continued to blame him for her husband's death and told Tapp she could never forgive him. She had later ran off, leaving Tapp behind. If Tapp chose the Truth Door over the Freedom Door in the game's finale, he would discover that after leaving Tapp, Melissa was forced into working for Jigsaw to keep Tapp's game on track, and if she failed, her son would die. She had also had her mouth temporarly sewn by Pighead shut in order for her not to give the game away. Because she was dressed up in Jigsaw's robes, Tapp mistook Melissa for Jigsaw and kicked her repeatedly, until she played a tape which revealed the truth. Attempting to get away from Tapp, she headed for the nearest door, which led to a shotgun wired up to shoot and kill her, with a Billy the Puppet on the other side laughing. This causes Tapp to become insane. However, the Freedom Ending was the canon choice that Tapp made, which freed him along with the other survivors in the asylum including Melissa and her son. This meant that her ties with Jigsaw were never revealed.
