The MA002a Hornet is the second mass accelerator weapon designed by Evolve, the first being the Argus BR . This weapon was at first a test bed for a fully auto mass accelerator type weapon. Evolve was able to dial up the rate of fire so far that the weapon started to melt. The rate of fire also affected the accuracy of the weapon, at the higher rates the weapon would literally fill the air between shooter and target with projectiles.

  • The MA002a Hornet is the second mass accelerator weapon designed by Evolve, the first being the Argus BR . This weapon was at first a test bed for a fully auto mass accelerator type weapon. Evolve was able to dial up the rate of fire so far that the weapon started to melt. The rate of fire also affected the accuracy of the weapon, at the higher rates the weapon would literally fill the air between shooter and target with projectiles. With all this in mind the final version of the weapon was designed, with a near perfect balance of rate of fire and spread shot. The weapon fills a nitch role as short range, area denial for use in the corridors of star ships and ground/space facilities.
