- Carl Sagan was a prominent astrophysicist, astrobiologist, and writer. His first and only appearance is in Atomic #4, where he invites Atomic Robo on a mission to Mars and oversees the launch. The character is based on the real-life Carl Sagan, who (among many other contributions) advised NASA from the 1950s onwards.
