When the Freedom Fighters infiltrated the wreckage of Citadel Robotnik to shut down the meeting, Norman commandeered one of Doctor Robotnik's old Egg-o-Matics and used it to attack the heroes. Unfortunately, the craft's design was flawed; due to the arms being made from springs, one hammer blow from the weapon saw a fist recoil back and into Norman's face. Despite his failure, he continued to insist that Robotnik would return.

However, when he tried to use it to smash one of the Freedom Fighters, the machine's design flaw became apparent when the fist rebounded off the ground, destroying the machine and knocking Norman on the head. He was quickly apprehended, but his actions allowed the other D.R.A.T. members to escape.
