As the game progresses over the course of Ramza's life, he becomes a knight for hire, an itinerant noble and eventually even a Heretic when he tries to take down corrupt officials. Ramza's journey to protect Ivalice takes him from fighting insurgents to confronting corrupt nobility, to fighting the very angels of hell.

Word of God states that Ramza managed to live in the ending and have other adventures, just not in Ivalice.

Er ist der Held und wichtigste Charakter von Final Fantasy Tactics bzw. der Neuauflage Final Fantasy Tactics: The War of the Lions. Er ist eine der wichtigsten Schlüsselfiguren der Geschichte von Ivalice und dem Lion War, auch wenn er in den späteren Aufzeichnungen keine Erwähnung findet, oder als Verbrecher dargestellt wird. Die einzigen historisch wahren Aufzeichnungen seines Wirkens sind in den Durai Writings enthalten deren Autor, Olan Durai, einer seiner Freunde war.
