Francois Mautin (born May 9, 1907) was an French hockey player who played two games with the French National Team at the 1928 Winter Olympics. He was also a reserve at the 1930 World Championships. At the club level, he played for CSH Paris from 1925-1930, Racing Club de France from 1931-1933, and the Francais Volants from 1933-1934. Mautin was an extremely wealthy man and the grandson of pre-eminent European jewler Henri Vever (1854-1942). Vever owned a large collection of artwork that Mautin and his sister kept hidden from the Nazis, who occupied the family estate during World War II.

Mautin was an extremely wealthy man and the grandson of pre-eminent European jewler Henri Vever (1854-1942). Vever owned a large collection of artwork that Mautin and his sister kept hidden from the Nazis, who occupied the family estate during World War II. The pieces were kept in a New York warehouse for many years. After it became known that he was in possession of the artwork, Mautin was contacted and eventually sold them to the Smithsonian, who bought 500 pieces for $7 million in 1986.
