  • Frog & Spiders is a fixed screen shooter released in 1981 by Taito for Arcades. The game plays similarly to Space Invaders, with the Core Cannon replaced by a frog and the invaders replaced by spiders. The playfield is a large spider web between two trees. Players move the frog left and right, having one button to shoot and one for jumping. Shooting a spider once knocks it down from the web, at which point the player can shoot it again or jump to eat it, which grants bonus points. You also get bonus points at the end of each round for protecting other insects caught on the web and receiving a 200 point penalty for each other insect shot down.
