Erstmals erschien das Spiel 1985 für das NES bzw. der Famicom in Japan. 1987 kam das Spiel auch nach Deutschland. Außerdem gab es, wie schon angesprochen, ein Remake für den Game Boy Advance, welches 2004 erschien. Es wurde im Ramen der Classic NES Series neu veröffentlicht. Damals, zu Zeiten des NES, gab es noch keine Altersklassifizierungen, daher gab es auch keine Altersbeschränkung für die NES Version.
