An ionic interference signal was key to Odo's plan to drive the energy matrix of the Saltah'na energy spheres from the brains of the staff officers of Deep Space 9 in 2369. The principle component of his computer program, Odo One, disrupted the natural resonance frequencies of the matrix, driving that harmful influence from the brains of the affected personnel. After activating the ionic interference signal — which was in large measure created by a Saltah'na-affected Julian Bashir — the paranoia and factionism which had set in among the senior staff ceased and life returned to normal aboard the space station.
