- The SAR-21 ("Singapore Assault Rifle - 21st Century") is a bullpup assault rifle designed and manufactured in Singapore. First revealed and subsequently adopted by the Singapore Armed Forces in 1999, it was intended to replace the locally license-built M16S1. Many of its design features are directly intended to counter the weaknesses of the M16 as encountered operationally by some infantrymen.

- The ST Kinetics SAR-21 (Singapore Assault Rifle - 21st Century) is a Singaporean bullpup Assault Rifle developed in the early 90s and later adopted by the Singapore Armed Forces in 1999. Designed to counter weaknesses of the SAF's former M16S1 rifle, the rifle uses a modified Stoner operating system with higher reliability and lower recoil than the M16 and is constructed out of high-impact polymer. The SAR is also exported to the United States for police and civilian use by ST's subsidiary VT Systems.

This rifle was first displayed on public in 1999, at the DSEi '99 defense exhibition. At the present time the SAR-21 is adopted by the Singapore Armed Forces as the standard assault rifle, and gradually replaces the ageing M16S1 (Singapore-made M16A1 rifle), and CIS previous SAR-80 and SR-88 rifles. It is also offered for export military and law enforcement sales. At the present time it's hard to judge this rifle, but the available reports are quite favorable, stating that the gun is comfortable to carry and fire, accurate, reliable and has low recoil.
