- Surtr is a fire giant and the first being in Ginnungagap. He is the leader of the fire giants and is the guardian of Muspelheim. He possesses a sword made entirely of fire. During Ragnarök, he will face and kill Freyr in battle, though Freyr will stab out one of the giant's eyes, and destroy the world with fire, only for it to be made anew.
