  • Mississauga is a city of over 500.000 people just to the west of Toronto. Ontario, Canada. In 1968, the creation of the Town of Mississauga amalgamated the villages and hamlets of Cooksville, Dixie, Erindale, and Malton. Although Streetsville, Clarkson, Port Credit, and Meadowvale were excluded from this amalgamation, it was evident that the high population growth in the area would result in further amalgamation. The 401, 427, 403, QEW and the dreaded 407 express toll highway. Mississauga has been run for the past 30 years since it's amalgamation of smaller towns in the 1970s by Mayor Hazel McCallion. She is so old she looks like she might blow away, but she is so ferocious that she gets 95% of the vote every time there is an election and no one dares run against her anymore. No one even knows who to run after her death, as she is at the frisky age of 87. POPULATION: 2
