Both of those races came in 1997, when Bean debuted at Sonoma. Starting 28th in the field of thirty-four, Bean completed every single lap and drove to a remarkable 9th place showing. He was unfortunately unable to improve in his other race, falling eight laps down and finishing 24th at Mesa Marin.
