- Free Comic Book Day is a once-a-year event taking place every first Saturday of May. Participating comic shops give away specialized free issues from participating comic publishers, supposedly promoting western comics to the general audience. Team Robo participates in this event by giving away their own sets of issues. These comics are available on the Nuklear Power website and each of the issues are available to download for free from the PlayStation Store for the PSP.

Retailer Joe Field of Flying Colors Comics in Concord brainstormed the event in his "Big Picture" column in the August 2001 issue of Comics & Games Retailer magazine. Free Comic Book Day started in 2002 and is coordinated by the industry's single large distributor, Diamond Comic Distributors.
- Red Fraggle and Karen Prell appeared at Meltdown Comics in Hollywood as special guests in 2010, doing a photo session and sing along with Grant Baciocco. Their appearance was to promote the Archaia Studios Press title Fraggle Rock, which was offered as part of the event. Writer Sam Humphries, artist Jeremy Love and letterer David Lanphear also appeared to sign copies of the comic. Other creators appeared around the United States, at other comic shops:
