Sir James Mantle Greenwood (1902 - 5 December 1969) was an advertiser and local politician. Born in Camberwell, he was the son of James Greenwood, a furniture packer, and his wife Elizabeth nee Mantle. He became a library assistant during the First World War, bringing fretwork puzzles to wounded soldiers in Guy's Hospital. He was to keep his connection with the hospital for the rest of his life, becoming a governor and donating a quarter of a million pounds to the institution in 1969. The Greenwood Theatre, built and owned by the Charitable Foundation of Guy's Hospital and leased by King's College London is named after him.

He was awarded the CBE in the 1956 Birthday Honours for "political and public services in Southwark" and was knighted in the Birthday Honours 1962 "for political and public services in London".
